Peter Mars (b.1959)
is a renowned American artist with ties to both the Pop Art and Outsider Art movements.  Mars is represented in NYC, Chicago, Houston, Paris, Toronto, London, and Los Angeles. He has been at the forefront of the American Pop Art movement since the early 1980s.  In 1988, he founded Mars Gallery, a wildly popular Chicago night spot and the iconic hub of its lively art scene.
Peter Mars is exhibited with Keith Haring, Banksy, Andy Warhol, Shepard Fairey, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and others.

Mars artworks often incorporate the use of silkscreen aka serigraphy (from the French words for "silk writing") where ink is pulled across a piece of silk fabric onto various mediums including wood, cardboard, and paper.  His works form a running commentary on global popular culture.

Generally these are unusual works on paper or cardboard found hidden away in the studio. Experimental works, extras, odds and ends, may be scuffed, bent, nicked or torn. that are 6'' diameter, and art boxes with plenty of padding and/or thin maple wood sheets.
