    The United States Peace Dollar was minted from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935. Anthony de Francisci’s won the design competition for a coin most emblematic of peace. The obverse is of the head and neck of the Goddess of Liberty in profile, and the reverse depicts the bald eagle at rest holding an olive branch, with the legend "PEACE". It was the last United States silver dollar to be struck for circulation.
